Welcome to West Chatham Elementary where student voice, leadership, and a love for learning flourish every day!

Our mission is to empower every student to lead, grow, and succeed in a supportive, engaging environment. Guided by our vision of a school where every child shines, our core values light the path:

Student Voice – Every student has a voice and a choice.
Writing – We build strong thinkers through strong writing.
Leadership – Every child leads in their own unique way.

On top of all that magic, we’re proud to introduce our House System inspired by the Ron Clark model and seamlessly woven with the Leader in Me 8 Habits. Students belong to one of our eight Houses (each tied to a specific Habit), creating smaller communities within our school. This system fosters belonging, promotes positive meaningful competition, and builds unity across grades

Each House embodies one of the 8 Habits of Highly Effective People like “Be Proactive,” “Begin with the End in Mind,” and “Synergize” which students practice daily in class, at assemblies, and during special House events. Through this, kids learn leadership, responsibility, collaboration, and goal-setting in truly hands-on ways.
